UTA - October 13, 2009 - May 11, 2021
Uta came to us at 3.5 years old after being returned to her breeder by her original owners. She was leash aggressive and had difficulties with impulse control. After nearly a year in "Chill Ubu" classes at Performance Plus K9 Activity Center, she was able to begin her obedience career. Since then she went on to compete in nosework, obedience, and rally and started training in agility at the ripe old age of 8. She dabbled in tricks, attempted to learn the ins and outs of herding, and loved to swim and chase frisbees. She had a few lessons in barn hunt, but did not compete. She earned an obedience title from CDSP and her Beginner Novice and CD title from AKC. She also earned her Rally Novice, Intermediate, Advanced, and Excellent title, several tricks titles (Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced), some entry AKC agility titles (ACT 1&2) and a few NADAC agility titles, was herding instinct tested, and earned her NW1 and NW2 nosework titles with placements. Finally she was labeled an AKC Achievers and qualified three times for AKC Rally Nationals, although did not compete in any of those events. She fell ill with pancreatitis at age 10 and had a successful recovery, but then had a second bout of it a year later from which she was unable to recover. In honor of her life and accomplishments, the Tracking Club of Massachusetts donated $50 to the American Border Collie Association Health & Education Foundation. ACCOMPLISHMENTS
